What are sins?

Sin is breaking of any of the laws given by God. Understanding law is knowing law given by God. Sine God is the judge the judgement is according to the law of the God, not by the law of the world or your own standards about law. Even the tiniest of the sin with you will disqualify you for the Kingdom of God and heaven but will qualify you for the hell. Matthew 5:17-20

The most important commandments are the Ten Commandments. Exodus 20:1-23

A more abstract definition of the above sins are given by Jesus, which also means that nobody will be justified by their own good works. Matthew 5:20-48, Matthew 7:12, Matthew 22:35-40, Mark 12:28-31

The following are some examples of sins that everybody will do.

Can anyone other than Jesus claim that they have no sin? Proverbs 20:9, Proverbs 24:9, Romans 14:23 2. Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, Ecclesiastes 7:20, Jeremiah 17:9-10, Isaiah 64:6, 1 John 1:8

Yet a sincere effort from your side to obey all of them is checked by God from your heart. Jonah 1-4

And there are rewards to each one according to ones deeds. 1.Revelation 22:12, Matthew 5:12, Matthew 10:42, Matthew 16:27, Luke 6:35, Mark 9:41, 2 John 1:8, 1Corinthians 3:8, Romans 4:4

Understand God’s standard regarding sin. Isaiah 55:3-9

Then what was the purpose of giving a list of commands that nobody can completely obey? It was for the Glory of God and to make you recognize the need for Messiah, the savior who is God. Galatians 3:24, John 3:13-21, Job 33:24, John 1:29, Isaiah 1:18, Acts 13:38-39, Isaiah 44:24-26

Continued sin will harden your heart towards God. And will prevent you from accepting the salvation through Messiah the savior. Hebrews 3:13, Luke 8:4-15

God knows your heart. Isaiah 29:15-16

A sin usually leads to a series of sins to follow. Here David looked on to the forbidden, that lead to lust and again to adultery and finally to misuse of power and murder. 2 Samuel 11:1-27

Breaking of any of the commandments given in the books of Exodus , Numbers , Leviticus , 1 Chronicles , 2 Chronicles , Deuteronomy , and Joshua also makes you a sinner. These are elaborate but read at your convenience. It is sure that nobody can obey all of these commands and be justified. The answer is Jesus Christ who will bear your sin before God, who became the lamb of God.
